Application in paper
VIOPHOR BA CONC PDR should be added where the stock is vigorously agitated. For discontinuous addition, e.g. in the pulpier, beater or mixing chest, it is advisable to prepare highly dilute VIOPHOR BA CONC PDR solution and to prevent mottling. Generally 0.2 to 0.3% VIOPHOR BA CONC PDR powder to the weight of dry Pulp is sufficient for the medium degree of whiteness. However in special cases VIOPHOR BA CONC PDR powder up to 0.5% of the weight of dry pulp can be used to get very high degree of whiteness.
Stability in the wash liquor
Hard water
Good. The intensity of white effect is not affected by chemicals causing hardness
Alkali
Good. VIOPHOR BA CONC PDR is stable for considerable periods. In strongly alkaline media even at temperatures above 100*C.
Peroxide
Good. Peroxide additions to the wash liquor do not impair the intensity of the white effect.
Chlorine
Poor, VIOPHOR BA CONC PDR. Is slowly destroyed in a hypochlorite solution but when fixed on the goods it has good fastness to chlorine.
Storage Stability
Stable if stored away from sunlight under roof and cool condition.
Toxicology & Ecology
VIOPHOR BA CONC PDR. Doesn’t: present any special hazard when used for the recommended applications provided the usual elementary safety and hygiene rules for handling chemicals are observed.
